Open Theism a God Who Takes Risks

Image
When I began to write about God’s omniscience, (all-knowing) I came across something very odd to me, it was a group of Christians which practice a set of tenets called  Open Theism . The Open Theist does not believe in several things that would otherwise be called normal Christian doctrine, but the issue here is specifically their view on God’s omniscience. For the Open Theist God is not all-knowing, He is “ somewhat ” knowing. In fact, they even go as far as to say things like “ God takes risks " as a gambler  or worst of all, that " God makes mistakes” . I’m not an apologist, however, the scripture clearly teaches God Omniscience. Psalm 33:13-15 tells us God consider the works of every individual.   1 Corinthians 4:5 tells there is no secret that God does not know, even the smallest of thing does not happen without God’s knowledge ( Matthew 10:29-30 ) The Bible is full of prophecy, which can only happen if God already knows it. In fact, some of th...

He will wipe every tear from your eyes.

The bible says “ The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable ” I would contend that the lips of the righteous know what God has in store. Today at work I was speaking to one of my coworkers about a tribe in Africa that when someone experiences a lost the whole tribe  circumscribes her or him and cries with them; their pain becomes part of the community, and everyone works to help them through their struggles, help them cry right through their pain. Oh how powerful it is to know that someone is there for you crying not because of their personal suffering, but because of your suffering, in anguish because  you are in anguish, hurting because of your lost. When I got home from work I signed on to FaceBook   and one of my new friends had posted how difficult it was dealing with the lost of a significant other. I just like him have a hard time dealing with the lost of someone I care for. However even though it seams I’m never one for a lost of words,...

The Immutability of God

Image
Man seldom sees the need to ponder, meditate, or contemplate on the Immutability of God. This attribute of God is if nothing else the most difficult for man to understand because for the most part man measures God's Immutability with His relationships with man. However this very act is foolish because That which is Eternally Infinite can not be subjected to that which is mutable and limited.  When we think of The Immutability of God what goes through most people mind is that God never changes. This prima-facie  thought, though limited is absolutely true. However, there exist within the concept of immutability much more then that.  When we say that God never changes ( is immutable) what we mean is that God never changes in His Essence, God never changes in His Attributes, and God never changes in His counsel.  However changing and mutability is not necessarily the same thing. For instant a change can occur in an individual without that individual ever  H...

Happy Valentines Day Jesus Christ, my first love.

i was listening to the radio today, the gospel station Praise103.9 FM in Philadelphia, and one of the questions that asked of their listeners  today was when did they realized that they truly loved Jesus? i guess in a way this being Valentine’s day the question kind of made sense. As i drove my car down Roosevelt Blvd   and listened to the callers respond to this question my hand moved toward my cell phone setting in the middle console. my multi-tasking skill leaves a lot to be desired so i decided rather than cause a major crash on this already highest accident prone street in the country  i would wait until i got somewhere i could safely make a call. i listened intently as caller after caller passionately recounted that moment when they realized that they really loved Christ Jesus. Even though i was still driving down the road, i could almost see the events of their lives as if they were projected on a big screen movie in front of me.  For some as they rec...

Mega Churches- Mega Lies

Image
It is a fearful ( formidable, dreadful and terrible ) thing to incur the divine penalties and be cast into the hands of the living God! Hebrew 10:31 (Amplified Bible) Again we have another "Minister of God" in the limelight because of his misconduct, Ted Haggard accused of sexual misconduct with not just 1 but possibly as many as ten men , including underage boys! Then on Ophrah he lies again about his conduct saying he is not gay. Oh what is gay? We are told that just one lie makes us a liar, But how many gay affairs does it take to make you gay? From Ted Haggard sexual misconduct, Thomas Weeks III buckweahish presentations and perverted teaching concerning holy sanctuary of marriage, to Carlton Pearson complete defiling of the gospel and utter refusal to fully esteem the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ. We see a complete turning away of the men of God, and a rampant apostacy that appears to have it origin in the mega-churches were they are so easily hidden ...

The Eternalness of God

Image
From Once Upon a Time" to Kingdom Come   If I was to say to you that “ God is Eternal ” the first thing that would come to your mind is a God that had no end.  However, that would only reach one end of an infinite spectrum of the existence of God.  Because we as human being only perceive time as going in one direction (forward). Yet to understand God’s eternalness we would have to at least try to conceive a period before time insisted. According to current cosmological theories, the universe, had a point when it wasn’t; and then BANG!! it was.  What that means is there was a finite point when time, space and matter came into existence. Stephen Hawking and Roger Penrose who developed the space-time theorem of general relativity , and all respectable scientist today agree that there was a time when the universe did not exist. The Big Bang theory, science agrees almost universally is that period when the universe came into existence. The Bi...

Humbling Yourself in Fear Before the Almighty God

Image
Sackcloth and Ashes What is this Sackcloth and Ashes what does it mean to us those that pray and fast with the hope of seeing a move of God in our lives? What can we learn from what the Bible has to say about these Sackcloth and Ashes? We have all heard the expression the clothes make a man. In ancient times and even today the clothes that a man wears says a lot  about him. In ancient times if a man wore purple or blue, scarlet or crimson, he was thought to be a man of high degree, royal or a governor or ruler of some type If he wore silk or any other fine material he was assumed to be even the  greater. The Humble Self However, when a man wore sackcloth, which was the lowest quality of clothes there was, he was saying to the world “ I humble myself before the Almighty G od” Being publicly naked was the most humiliating state a man could achieve and wearing sackcloth was the next level up from there. This is why the accusers of Jesus Christ took his cloth...
