Why Righteousness?

Please Comment
This blog is an answer to a friends blog who was asked the question "Why do I need to be righteousness?"

There is a major problem with the way the gospel is taught today, we see God as a servant to us, rather than our required servitude to Him. Pay attention to the names of God used in most Churches, Jehovah - Jireh – (The Lord will provide [for Me]), Jehovah - Rophe (The Lord Heals [Me]), Jehovah Nissi (The Lord Is My Banner), and Jehovah-Shalom –( the Lord [My] Peace).  All of these names have to do with what God can do for us. Now when you combine this with the accepted witnessing principles, that Jesus love you, and if you come to Him He will heal your sickness, your addiction, your marriage problems and your finances, it becomes easy to  see how this feel good, all about what I can get out of the relationship mindset that the world and many Christians have about God.

The problem is with our teaching, and evangelism we don’t tell them about the full council of God’s Salvation. We must give them God’s word  in the form of law first, and then the Gospel, Gonna say that again, we must give them God’s word in the form of law first, and then the Gospel  (I put in in color so you would not miss it.) Matthew 7:6 tell us "Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs”. And what your pearls are what is sacred is the Gospel.

If we tell people Jesus will bring happiness,  ( though it is a fact Jesus can bring happiness and healing but it is wrong for us to use these things as drawing card to convince someone to Jesus.) And when we do this then our witnessing becomes an issue of quality of life and the fact is that there are many people who are going to hell and are perfectly happy with their present quality of life. Also no blind prayer recital will get anyone saved! The modern gospel's end result is to get them recite this sinners prayer, which is totally unbiblical. Did Jesus or Paul or any of the Apostles cause a person to recite a sinner’s prayer? If a person could be saved by saying a sinners prayer than Ephesians 2:9 which says “Not of works, lest any man should boast” is a lie, and we who have  the sexual immoral, morally corruption, those that think its OK to do whatever feels good, we would have idolaters,  drug users and Christians participating in casting spells, hate, fighting, obsession, and people just out of control, conflict, selfishness, clicks within the church racism, and jealousy, drunkenness, perverted partying, and other things like that. However God says those that do these thing will not enter heaven (Galatians 5:19-21)

However if we show them using God’s word that they are in transgression of God’s law and God is just (perfectly right) in punishing them with eternal death to burn in hell, then we can bring them to a biblical state of repentance, and teach them the value of righteousness.

The bible tells us that God law, not our life, not what God has done for me, but God’s law is perfect in converting the soul (psalm 19:7) So we must give the law to show them they are in sin.  I know you will say "but they already know they are in sin and they're OK with it". However, this is only a state of laziness on our part. One God requires us to warn them of His wrath, and holds us accountable when we do not (Ezekiel 33:6

Paul says in Romans 7:7 “I would not have known sin, but by the law; for I would not have know lust except the law said thou shall not covet.”

I was shocked when I found that most people do not know they are in sin, or they have devalued their sin to such a level that it means nothing to them, they say words like “little white lie or “everyone is doing it But we have a God that sees even one lie as a liar,  -  taking a pen from work as a thief, -  looking a women with lust as adultery,   -  and being angry with a men for no reason as murder. When we look at sin from God's point of view we see just how guilty we are.

The natural man does not see himself in sin, and because we refused to warn them, the will never have a reason for repentance. The punishment is great, and we must bring to the sinner's attention that very fact! . Take away quality of living when we speak to them, and let them know that the reason for righteousness is without it you go to hell!

I know some people are going say " isn't that works?" my answer is its not the works which saves us, it being saved which produces works of righteousness. leave a comment if you have your own thoughts, or would like more clarity on this subject.
