Does it seems strange that of all the things the disciples could have asked of Jesus, the only things recorded that they did ask was to " Show us the Father " and " Teach us to pray "? They never asked to teach us to preach, or to evangelize with power, they never asked to heal the sick, or raise the dead. This question was given to me, a week or two ago, and it took about 5 days to answer.  Not that it was so difficult as it was difficult to come to understand the question. So I waited and waited for God to make clear what he would have me respond.  After five days I got up one Saturday Morning ready to address the question. We looked at four reasons that those that once attended church gave for no longer attending, or converting to another religion.   They were;      ( 1 )What the Bible says about slavery;    ( 2 ) Their imagined intellectual integrity;    ( 3 )As Christians we have a low intellectual view of ourselves, and the God which gives us knowledge and wisdom .
