Wrestling with Food Fellowship   I remember seeing the comedian Michael Jr. on a YouTube video saying in an interview that he did not know pretty people went to church. I thank God and a few old folks that he was seriously wrong.   But in truth I must admit that at one time I thought all church people were overweight. This perception of church people had some origin in truth, because even if the pastor does not nourish your spirit, the church will  if not during morning breakfast than during after service dinner will nourish your belly.     For many of the officers of the church the argument is Jesus always feed the multitudes. They have associated God’s word with eating. Almost as if they think God has to prostitute His Word with food so that  would come to hear it.  This anomaly which gives food to the full yet often forget the hungry has been called everything from “Food Fellowship” to “ministry of food” and what it is in my opinion...

I want to welcome everyone to this first of a 10 part series on the Fruit of the Spirit. In this series I will try to define the individual attributes that should be working in the life of a Christian who is spirit filled. However, before I go on to define the individual attributes I want to set a starting point so that when I speak of the fruit of the Spirit there is a generally accepted point of reference. What is the Fruit of the Spirit? Consider this, the bible uses the word “fruit” to mean a product produced from a specific tree. With respect to a specific product being the results of a specific tree. This is much the same way we know that a grape vine produces grapes, and an apple tree produces apples, and a fig tree will produce figs. Therefore a tree produces fruit after itself. There are many today that teach that all you have to do is say this special prayer and you have salvation. Though this is common in the church it is not biblical. Nowhere in the bible does Jesus or any of the apostles walk any sinner through a prayer, but instead they persuade them to repent of their sin through the use of the law. In Mark 1:14-15 Jesus teaches repent and believe the gospel. This doctrine of repentance and faith was taught by Jesus Christ. If the son of God would teach the gospel of repentance and faith, who are we to teach any other doctrine, who are we that we should pervert the gospel ( (Galatians 1:6-9 ) It has to become recognized that without repentance there is no salvation and the only reason a man should desire salvation is to have his sins forgiven. Prophecy 101 What is it? The gift of prophecy is the ability to speak the will of God into the lives of others. It has the purpose of bringing edification, exhortation, and encouragement to the Body of Christ, either individually or as a corporate body through knowledge of God’s Will 1 Corinthians 14:3 (KJV) But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort. Who is a Prophet? Now it is important to understand that there is a difference between the Gift of Prophecy and the Office of a Prophet, one is a Gift of the Spirit and the other is a specific ministry office given to the body of Christ. Ephesians 4:11 tells us that there are 5 ministry offices each one with a purpose and anointing on that office, they are; Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastors, and Teachers .
