Fixing Our Eyes on Jesus

“Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith…” (Hebrews 12:2) Prayers in Pursuit of God Part 8 of a 11 Other than H e bre ws 11:1 nowhere in the bible is faith ever defined, and even there it is defined functionally, not philosop hically. Yet scripture assumes the presence of faith and shows what it results in, rather than what it is. We are told from whence it comes, " Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." ( Romans 10:17 ) and by what means it comes “ Faith is a gift of God ," ( Ephesians 2:8 ) yet in truth there is no definition of faith When the people of Israel spoke against God and Moses the Lord sent snakes in their mist and many people were bitten and died. The Silent Voice

Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man Proverbs 8:4(KJV) Prayers in Pursuit of God Part 7 of a 11 In the last installment of Prayers in the Pursuit of God, we addressed the reality that we are not seeking the presence of our Father at all, but it is He, our Father that is since the creation of man revealing Himself to us. Genesis 1:1-3 informs us that God created all there was by the power of His words. Ancient Hebrews called the voice of God “Wisdom” and they believed that it is forever speaking searching throughout the whole earth for a response from the sons of man. Let us read again the passage of Proverbs 8 again for the firs...

Let me expound on this before I go any further. Fear is a Natural Part of Growth Consider this; a new born child neither fear his parents or loves his parents, at such an immature stage in his life, a new born child sees his parents only as the source of his needs. If his is hungry he cries and his parents supply food, or change his diaper or whatever his need. However, when that child gets older and misbehaves his parents then start to discipline him for his actions this child still does not love his parents, but see them as a source of his need and the law of his obedie...
