On Prophecy

Image
Prophecy 101 What is it? The gift of prophecy is the ability to speak the will of God into the lives of others. It has the purpose of bringing edification, exhortation, and encouragement to the Body of Christ, either individually or as a corporate body through knowledge of God’s Will 1 Corinthians 14:3 (KJV) But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort. Who is a Prophet? Now it is important to understand that there is a difference between the Gift of Prophecy and the Office of a Prophet, one is a Gift of the Spirit and the other is a specific ministry office given to the body of Christ. Ephesians 4:11 tells us that there are 5 ministry offices each one with a purpose and anointing on that office, they are; Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastors, and Teachers . Respectively there are 9 Gifts of the Holy Spirit they are; Word of Wisdom, Word of Knowledge, Faith, The Gift of Healing, The Working of Miracles, ...

Train up a child

Image
In a world where our children are being killed, at an enormous rate, the possibility of reaching adulthood for urban children (especially boys) becomes more and more difficult each day. Children are disrespecting their parents, joining gang, doing drugs, experimenting with homosexual relationships, and ever kind of perversion you can imagine. Grandparents are the parents of the 2K era, not only raising their children, but now raising their children’s children. God has been taken out of the schools and out of the courts and for many Americans, God has been taken out of the living rooms and from the dinner tables as well. Is there any wonder that our children have been given up to a reprobate society. But no loving parent wants to see his or her child die, and nothing is more tragic than to have a parent bury his own child. Nothing except when a parent has to bury his own child and know within his heart that his child has not been saved, that his child will burn eternally in hell, b...

Fixing the Broken Wheel of Flawed Teaching

Image
Fixing the Broken Wheel of Flawed Teaching What do you do when you come to a place where you realize that something that you have always been taught about God may not be in line with what God revealed of Himself in the bible? What do you do when God has opened your eyes to see that what was a regular part of how your practiced, or was taught to practice your faith may not be biblically correct? I not talking about a falling away of your faith, you still love God and you still have a made up mind to live your life for Jesus, but because you love God, and want more than anything to please him, you are troubled by the teaching of your local church. You began to fish through scripture after church to make sure what was preached was biblically sound, (Acts 17:11) but try as you can you just can support what is being taught with scripture. Each time you hear that teaching you get knocked of your square, you think to yourself, or maybe even say aloud to yourself  "that ...

Why Do You Pray?

Image
L uke 18:1  And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint ; Please leave a comment I went to prayer meeting, and tonight just like every other night it finished with our pastor imploring to pray! " Men ought always to pray, and not to faint,"  he would say as we walked out of the door. For me prayer has never been a task, I enjoy praying, for my family, my friends and even for those that my not like me as much as I love them, but this is not true of everyone. There are a number of reasons people pray, some out of obedience, some out of love, others out of faith, or fear, and then there are those that pray out of hopelessness.  We all know that prayer develops in us a connection with God but on a personal level why do you pray, what does prayer mean to you? Why do you think we should always and not faint? Your Brother in Christ T. Charves FireSpeaks Please leave a comment

Why Righteousness?

God as a servant to us, rather than our 00 servitude to Him. Pay attention to the names of God used in most Churches, Jehovah - Jireh – (The Lord will provide [for Me ]), Jehovah - Rophe (The Lord Heals [ Me ]), Jehovah Nissi (The Lord Is My Banner), and Jehovah-Shalom –( the Lord [ My ] Peace).  All of these names l to do  have about God. LlL The problem is with our teaching, and evangelism we ) tell them about the full council of God’s Salvation. We must give them God’s word  in the form of law first , and then the Gospel, Gonna say that again, we must give them God’s word in the form of law first , and then the Gospel  (I put this in in color so you would not miss it.)  Matthew 7:6 tell us "Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs” . And what your pearls are what is sacred is the Gospel . If we tell people Jesus will bring happiness,  ( though it is a fact Jesus can bring happiness and...

When We can't See God’s Work at Hand.

Image
When the king of Edom, and the king of Moab, and the king of Ammon, and the king of Tyre, and the king of Sidon, and Josiah king of Judah were taken into subjugation under Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon many prophets falsely prophesied the quick restoration and the return of those in exile. But the prophet Jeremiah with a Yoke of wood he wore on his own neck until the prophet Hanniah throw it to the ground and broke it, did not receive this prophecy from God So God spoke to Jeremiah and said that the yoke that Hanniah broke was of wood, but God had put a yoke of iron around the nations and had given Nebuchadnezzer dominion over all they had, even the beast of the field. So Jeremiah wrote a letter to those in exile rebuking the false prophecy of the other prophets, and reminding those in exile that even in times of difficulty, God still had a better plan for them. Rather then complain because of their situation, Jeremiah suggested that they should strengthen themselves, in the...

Appearance of Evil

Image
Appearance of Evil I n 1 st Thessalonians Paul gives some very sound advice on how to walk daily as a Christian. We often forget these very sound precepts and assume that we can attain to a standard of Christianity on our own. In verse 16 though 22 the Apostle gives a seven step process whose simplicity has outlasted anything man has up to this point thought of. If we follow these steps there will be no condemnation in those that are in Christ, from the world be they in church or on the street. Today we will address only the last one found in verse 22 “ Abstain from all appearances of evil” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-22 Rejoice evermore. 17 Pray without ceasing. 18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 19 Quench not the Spirit. 20 Despise not prophesyings. 21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. 22 Abstain from all appearance of evil. When we consider this verse we must realize that Paul is not asking us to abstain fr...
