In the next few bloggs I will address what I call the five attributes of God. I've heard about other  having as many as 40 different Attributes of God but when I investigate them i found they all fell into 5 major attributes. Sometimes attributes are mistaken for characteristics but they are clearly different. Attributes are the things that we can know or identify as ( not with) God. Characteristics are those thing that God expresses toward man. For example height, weight, and hair color are all attributes of a man, while kindness, a deciteful and abrasive are characteristics of a man.   2 Timothy 2:15    Study to shew thyself approved unto God  So many pastors teach getting rid of your intellect and resting on the Holy Spirit,in your walk with Christ. If there is no training on how this is done or if the convert is new to the faith can be just as if not more dangerous than relying on your intellect.  It is our intellect that allows us to discern right form wrong, in fact our intellect is needed to even read the Bible. As Barack Obama takes office as the 44 th president of the United States , his name is in the prayers of many people though out the world.  For many people of African-American decent it’s the pride they feel knowing that a man of color can rise to the highest office in the world. I've wrestled with the concept of changing God's mind for a while and was somewhat confused about this until I realized that it is not The FATHER that Changes, After all our FATHER is Immutable and therefore never changing.  Malachi 3:6 God Declares “ For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. ”  Here we see that by his own word that The FATHER does not change. So what does it mean when it says that God repented or changed His mind? First, when we think about immutability we should not think that God does something this way and only this way, but just as a father or mother may treat all their children equally they may not treat them all the same. For some children, a stern look is an acceptable discipline, for others harsh words, and even others Proverbs 23:14 (Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell.)
