The Thanksgiving of Habakkuk For 389 years the United States of America  has set aside one day to give thanks to God, creator of heaven and earth, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, and Giver of His Holy Spirit,  for His gracious sustaining of us all 364 days that preceded. There may come a time in your walk with Jesus in which He sets you in a place of isolation just waiting for His grace to rescue you.    Just as we read in 2 Samuel 9    Mephibosheth, the once heir apparent of all Israel was regulated by God to a place of Lodebar  [1] .  When God has put you in a spiritual Lodebar, it is a place in which all past experiences are of no value, your education, and your contacts, even your resources can not pull you from this desolation.    It is a time of such stillness where God does not even speak to you. The attributes of God’s character are Love, Mercy, Kindness, Goodness, Holiness, Justice and many more, From the attributes we have come to know God. His Love for us was so Great, that in order to provide a perfect sacrifice for our sins, he took the form of man, humbled Himself and in obedience  was put to death by nailing  on the cross.  So the Love of God is not questioned by anyone that believes. However, there are times when tragedy finds its way into our lives. It hits us quickly, intensely, and painfully, and in most cases senselessly, or without explanation or evening warning. Like a coward who attacks when your back is turned tragedy hits you with the full intensity of it's force. Unprepared and unable to  brace yourself and prepare of the coming blow, it hits you with such forcefulness that it knocks you to your knees. Praying the promises of God is what we are so often told to do, but in reality most Christian are much too timid to even come to our Heavenly Father with anything but reverence to the Father’s Greatness. Now don’t get me wrong I’m not saying that we should not honor and have reverence for our Father, nor I’m saying come to the Father as if we were His “Running buddies” What I’m saying is that we should know how to boldly pray with arguments and supplications. For years we have been told to just pray, but I don’t remember even once anyone giving me instructions on what I should say, or even how I should present my request before the Father. No wonder we live in a world today where prayer is an afterthought even for the “devout” Christian.
