Day 1 Devotional ( Understanding Faith ) Everybody talks about faith, even the atheist, if he would be honest with himself has to admit that he/she put their faith in someone and something.   The most common argument for this is “I don’t believe in God.” But before we address if it is even possible to not believe in God, let's address why they have nothing to do with one another. Faith is not believing in God, Faith is putting your trust in someone or something other than yourself . It can be a simple as a chair or as complicated as God the creator of the universe. Consider this when we sit on a chair we put on faith in that chair and the builder of that chair that the chair will hold us.   If we had no faith that the chair would support us, we would not sit in it. What I was upset about was those thing which are just blatantly wrong that the world, (and most Christians) held as true. Internet apologetics is hard, you need a very thick skin to not get depressed, you can become angry and sometimes it actually causes you to sit back and cry. Not for the hurt but for the loss. Yet, sadly many Christian are as much to blame for our condition, as those that have yet to come to believe. In an effort to mitigate our gushing ignorance in the present of a non-believer, we twist the scripture to save the impression of piety rather than search the scriptures to tell the truth reveled in them.  So as to mitigate this foolishness and to cut short the mental assault on logic.   (Philippians 4:13) I have been inspired to address something near and dear to my heart, which is sound doctrine. Now don’t get me wrong I’m not Bible Doctrine Scholar, I stumble over many difficult teachings in the Bible, but I open myself to teacher that are more knowledgeable and better studied then I for the wisdom of what the words of God says.   So when I come and say that I have a problem with someone’s doctrine I’m not talking about seminary level doctrine, I’m talking about the basic understanding of the faith that separates a true Christians from an occultist, or a member of a sect.   I’m talking about the minimal amount of Bible knowledge we need to know before we can even worship Him in Spirit and Truth.  But, error in doctrine is just as poisonous to the knowledge of God as no doctrine at all.
